Colombia-Hispaniola: Mardi/Tuesday 23.10.2012. Bergen-Bogota.

Kristin est venue nous chercher à 4 h 40. Nous avons attendu 15 mn au tunnel d’Olsvik. Il est en travaux la nuit et n’ouvre pour laisser passer les voitures que chaque heure. Nous le savions, mais on a attendu quand même un peu.

Vol sans histoire de Bergen à Amsterdam. Nous sommes maintenant à l’aéroport d’Amsterdam, arrivés à

8 h nous repartons à 13 h pour Panama. J’aime bien les aéroports, on voit tant de gens différents, mais 5 h, c’est un peu long.

Long vol d’Amsterdam à Panama, mais c’est de jour tout le long et cela passe vite. Nous lisons, sur nos tablettes de lecture ou le journal, je fais des sudokus, nous mangeons et nous nous reposons. Les repas sont bons et assez légers, nous avons par exemple du poisson, du bon taboulé et une salade de fruits. La descente sur Panama est très brumeuse et même pluvieuse. On voit la baie de Panama et de nombreux navires ancrés qui attendent pour passer le canal. Il pleut des cordes quand on arrive à l’aéroport. On est emmené en bus de l’avion au terminal, on sent qu’il fait chaud et humide. On a une heure et demie à Panama, arrivé à 17 h et on doit repartir pour Bogota à 18 h 35, heure locale. Pour nous, c’est respectivement

2 h et 3h 30 du matin, le 24 octobre. Il fait déjà nuit à Panama. On ne se sent pas si fatigué que ça. Nous volons avec Copa, la compagnie de Panama. On part un peu en retard et le vol entre Panama et Bogota ne prend qu’une heure et dix minutes, juste le temps de boire un jus d’orange.

L’aéroport de Bogota est immense et la partie internationnale toute neuve. L’immigration prend un peu de temps et pourtant il y a au moins 50 guichets ouverts. Nous sortons et cherchons la personne qui doit nous attendre. On le trouve assez vite, il a une pancarte avec Havskov dessus. C’est un chauffeur de l’hotel. Il nous explique que cette partie de l’aéroport a ouvert vendredi dernier, c’est vraiment tout nouveau. La circulation est chargée mais ça roule. Il est maintenant 8 h 30. Je lui demnde à quelle distance est l’hôtel, il me répond à 3 h de route! Mais c’est une blague (heureusement!), c’est à 20 mn. Il nous prévient de ne pas prendre les taxis jaunes, ce sont tous des voleurs … et de ne pas nous promener la nuit en ville, c’est dangereux. Il fait doux, à peu près 20 º. L’hôtel est un grand hôtel, le Crowne Plaza Tequendama, 18 étages, près du centre ville. On a la chambre 960. On s’installe, range nos vêtements, installe internet, regarde un peu la brochure sur Bogota et on se couche à 11 h, 6 h du matin le jour suivant pour nous, le 24. Long voyage, sans problème.

Kristin picked us up at 4:40 am. We waited 15 minutes at the Olsvik tunnel. There is now work in the tunnel at night and it opens to let cars pass every hour. We knew about it, but we had to wait a bit.

Uneventful flight from Bergen to Amsterdam. We are now at the Amsterdam airport, arrived at 8 am and we leave at 1 pm for Panama. I like airports, we see so many different people, but 5 hours is a bit long.

Long flight from Amsterdam to Panama, but it is all in daylight and the time passes quite rapidly. We read on our eReader or the newspaper, I do sudoku, we eat and we rest. The food is good and fairly light, for example, we get fish, good tabbouleh and fruit salad. The descent to Panama is very foggy and even rainy. We can see the Bay of Panama and many ships anchored, waiting to cross the canal. It's pouring when we arrive at the airport. We take a bus from the plane to the terminal, we feel it is hot and humid. We have one hour and a half in Panama, we came at 5pm and leave for Bogota at 6:35 local time. For us, it is respectively

2 am and 3:30 am, on Oct. 24. It is already night in Panama. We do not feel so tired. We are flying with Copa, Panama’s company. We leave a little late and the flight between Panama and Bogota takes only one hour and ten minutes, just enough time to drink an orange juice.

Bogota airport is huge and the internationnale part new. Immigration takes a little time and yet there are at least 50 windows open. We go out and look for the person who is waiting for us. We find him quickly, he has a sign with Havskov written on it. It is a driver from the hotel. He explains that this part of the airport opened last Friday, so it's really new. Traffic is heavy but that rolls. It is now 8:30 pm. I ask how far is the hotel, and he tells me 3 hours drive! But this is a joke (hopefully!), it is 20 minutes. He warns us not to take yellow taxis, they are all thieves ... and not to walk at night in the city, it is dangerous. It is mild, about 20 º. The hotel is a big hotel, the Crowne Plaza Tequendama, 18 floors, near the city center. We have room 960. We settle, range our clothes in the closet, install internet, look a little a Bogota brochure and go to bed at

11 pm, 6 am the next day for us, the 24 th. Long journey without problem.
