Colombia-Hispaniola: Jeudi/ Thursday 25.10.2012. Bogota

Encore réveillés de bonne heure, 6 h. On se lève, se prépare et descend déjeuner.

Jens tire encore de l’argent, nos 100 000 pesos sont déjà presque tous partis. Jens part à pied aujourd’hui, l’Institut est à 3 km 500 d’ici, une bonne promenade. J’espère qu’il ne va pas se perdre, les rues ne sont pas bien marquées et c’est facile de se tromper.

Je travaille au blog puis repasse. Il y a un fer et une planche à repasser et nos vêtements sont bien chiffonnées dans nos sacs à dos. Puis je pars sur ma ”Carrera septima”. Il y a deux systèmes de rues ici: calles (rues) qui vont de l’Est à l’Ouest et les ”carreras” (autre nom pour une rue ici) qui, elles, vont du Nord au Sud. C’est une rue qui est piétonne maintenant et très fréquentée. De grandes banderoles, en travers, annoncent la modernisation de la ”Carrera septima”. Elle en a besoin. Les trottoirs sont pleins de trous, les façades s’écaillent et sont couvertes de grafitis et les arbres sont un peu anémiques. J’espère qu’ils vont s’y mettre.

Je fais quelques courses au supermarché, trouve un assortiment d’aiguilles à faire rêver une couturière pour 1000 pesos (3,5 kr! ou la moitié d’un €) dans une boutique qui vend de tout, mais surtout des accessoires de déguisement, on sent qu’Halloween approche. Et je continue sur ma septima. J’arrive au vieux Bogota, sur la place Bolivar où se trouve le palais présidentiel. Sur la place, des escaladeurs au rappel sont en train de couvrir une armature gigantesque en forme de cône de matériel vert, ce sera un sapin de Noël. Sans plan, Jens l’a pris, je trouve le Musée de l’or. J’y vais et bonne surprise c’est gratuit parce que j’ai plus de 60 ans. Ce musée est moderne et c’est très intéressant de voir des objets d’or de l’époque pré-hispanique. Un film explique l’histoie des métaux depuis le début de leur exploitation par l’homme. Il est 1 h quand j’ai fini et comme il y a un restaurant au musée, j’y vais. Une longue queue est à la porte. Je n’y vais donc pas et commence à revenir vers l’hôtel. J’ai faim et je suis fatiguée. A ”mon” supermarché, il y a une cafétéria. J’y vais, prend la même chose que la personne devant moi. Je lui avais demandé comment s’appelle ce qu’elle a pris. C’est tout simplement ”el menú del día” (le menu du jour). J’ai une soupe, une petite côtelette avec des haricots et du riz plus une boisson aux fruits pour? Devinez. 7 000 pesos, ce qui fait si je me trompe pas, 23 kr ou 3 €! Et c’est bon et copieux. Mieux qu’au musée où un plat coûtait 19 000 pesos.

Je rentre, me repose, lis le journal et fais le blog d’aujourd’hui, demain je n’aurai peut-être pas le temps.

Jens rentre tard, bien fatigué, il a fait l’aller et le retour de l’Institut à pied.

Nous descendons manger en bas, Jens prend juste une salade et moi une soupe, mais nous prenons tous les deux un riz au lait comme dessert.

On lit un peu et on se couche de bonne heure: demain, une voiture vient nous chercher à 7 h 30 pour nous emmener voir une station sismique dans un parc nationale, à peu près à une centaine de kms au N-E de Bogota.

We awake early today also, at 6:00 am. We get up, shower and og down to eat breakfast.

Jens takes out money again, our 100,000 pesos are already almost gone. Jens wants to walk to the Institute today, it is 3 km 500, a good walk. I hope he does not get lost, the streets are not well marked here and it is easy to get it wrong.

I work with the blog and then iron. There is an iron and ironing board and our clothes are crumpled after being pressed in our backpacks. Then I go on my "Carrera septima." There are two systems of streets here: calles (streets), which range from East to West and "carreras" (other name for a street here), they range from the North to the South. It is a pedestrian street now and very busy. Large banners across, announce the modernization of the "Carrera septima." It is needed. The sidewalks are full of holes, peeling facades are covered with graffiti and the trees are a bit anemic. I hope they get started soon.

I do some grocery shopping, find an assortment of needles which could make a seamstress dream for 1000 pesos (3.5 kr! Or 0,50 €) in a shop that sells everything, but especially accessories for disguise, we can feel that Halloween is coming soon. And I continue on my septima. I og all the way to the old Bogota and arrive at Bolivar Square where the presidential palace stands. In the middle of the place, climbers with harness are now covering a huge cone frame with green material, it will be a Christmas tree. Without a plan, Jens took it, I find the Gold Museum. I'm pleasantly surprised: it is free for me because I am more than 60 years old. This museum is modern and it is very interesting to see beautiful objects in gold of the pre-Hispanic era. A film explains the metals story since the beginning of their exploitation by man. It is 1 pm when I am finished and as there is a restaurant at the museum, I go there. A long queue stands in front of the door. I renounce, and start to walk back to the hotel. I'm hungry and I'm tired. At "my" supermarket, there is a cafeteria. I go there and take the same thing as the person before me. I asked her what was the name of what she took . It is simply "el menú del día" (menu of the day). I have a soup, a small chop with beans and rice plus a fruit drink for? Guess. 7000 pesos, which, if I'm not mistaken, is 23 kr or 3 €! And it is good and plentiful. It is much cheaper than at the museum where just one dish costed 19,000 pesos.

I come home, I rest, read the newspaper and do the blog for today. To morrow I am not sure to have much time.

Jens comes home late and tired. He went both ways walking.

We go down to eat in the restaurant but Jens takes only a salad and I take a soup, we both take a rice pudding as dessert.

We read a bit and og to bed early: to morrow, a car comes at 7:30 am to drive us to a seismic station in a national park, at about 100 km N-E of Bogota.
