Lundi/ Monday 05.11.2012. Bogota

We go to the beach at 6:30 am and today the waves are smaller, I go farther, and swim.
Breakfast and then a walk in the garden. Behind the hotel, in the garden where there are not many people, monkeys and parrots live in cages . The monkeys don’t look very happy to be here, and yet their cage is made so that they can go on a tree branch, a mesh is made like a tunnel on the branch. A parrot says "hello" and I, politely, say hello too.
Anibal picks us up at 9:30 am and takes us to the airport. We say goodbye and thank him again. I hope we will meet again before leaving Bogota. He returns to Bogota tomorrow, but Carina stay here with the baby. We send big kisses to Abraham.
Jens phones "our" taxi driver before we take off. Uneventful flight, time flies, I read "Fall of the Giants" by Ken Follett on my "lesebrett" (e-reader).
The driver is here when we arrive and takes us to the hotel. We are a little hungry and go out to find something to eat. The Septima Street, where it is not yet pedestrian is closed to traffic to make room for bikes, and a large parking lot in front of the hotel is transformed into a flea market. We go there and Jens buys a cap, he lost his. We go shopping at Exito, fruit, yoghurt, newspaper and even a baguette. We nibble in the room and then we go to work. The first week, Jens gave a course on Seisan, but tomorrow he starts a course on instrumentation.
We dine downstairs, soup for me and carimañolas, a kind of small yuca "empanadas" stuffed with minced meat. Jens takes a salad and a ceviche, and we both take a cappuccino.
Then more work and to bed.
